democracy in the Philippines is just a façade and representations were just at the level of rhetoric. Like everything else in the Philippines, planning is not taken seriously. Our curriculum has been criticized as being fraught with rote memorization, and K to 12 is expected to change all that. We all need to realize that the K to 12 is a catch-up attempt to put the Philippines at par with the rest of the world.
